BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Brazoria County officials say a natural gas leak in the Alvin area led to several homes being evacuated on Wednesday.
The Alvin Police Department said there was a natural gas pipeline rupture in Hillcrest Village on Fairway Drive near the golf course. City of Alvin Councilman Scott Salter said the rupture was due to someone mowing the grass for the county and hitting the line.

According to the Brazoria County Fire Marshal, 20 homes have been evacuated in the immediate area, and additional homes and businesses within a half-mile radius of Hillcrest Golf Course are being asked to leave unti
