ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The City of Orangeburg has been selected to host the 2027 Diamond Youth Baseball (DYB) World Series, one of the largest youth baseball tournaments in the southeastern United States.

The event will bring 72 teams, made up of boys ages 9 through 12, to compete over two weekends. Teams from 11 states, along with host teams in Division I and Division II AAA Minors, Majors, and “O” Zone, will participate. Thousands of players, families, and fans are expected to travel to Orangeburg.

The announcement marks a major win for the city, which outbid three other municipalities for hosting rights. Orangeburg previously hosted the 2024 Coach Pitch World Series, which generated an estimated $1.4 million economic impact. The 2027 tournament is projected to triple that figure.
