KALAMAZOO, MI — A Kalamazoo city commissioner’s home was hit by three bullets in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 15.

One shattered a window in Stephanie Hoffman’s living room and hit a water filter in her kitchen, destroying it. Another went through her garage.

A third went into the master bedroom, through the bathroom and out of a back bedroom window, she said.

“I see the bullet holes all throughout my house,” Hoffman said. “We all know that gun violence is real. However, when you are in experiencing it in your own life, it changes you forever.”

Casings from at least two different calibers were collected in the 1000 block of North Rose Street, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety spokesperson Zach Hamelton said.
