NYPD detectives are hoping that a tattoo of a rose and two pieces of jewelry will help them identify a young woman whose decomposing remains were found stuffed in a garbage bag on the side of a Queens highway , police said Wednesday.
A city Department of Transportation worker made the grisly discovery on the side of the Jackie Robinson Parkway near Vermont St. on Aug. 6, cops said.
The victim, whose remains were badly decomposed, had no ID on her and is believed to be Black or Hispanic and between 20 to 30 years old and 4-foot-5 to 5-foot-2.
She had dark brown, curly hair with bleached ends and a rose tattoo on her upper left buttocks, cops said.
Police also found a ring with a small heart-shaped purple stone and a barbell piercing on the woman’s body.
