SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A jury convicted a man who shot blank rounds inside a San Francisco synagogue where several people were attending a religious class in 2023, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Jurors found Dmitri Mishin, 53, guilty of committing a hate crime, interfering with religious worship, and brandishing an imitation firearm.

District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said, "There is no place for antisemitism. Hate crimes deeply impact victims and whole communities. Antisemitic incidents like this have lasting impacts. Getting justice in the courtroom rights these grave wrongs and restores some of the unity, dignity and humanity that is lost when these crimes are committed."
