Congressman Sam Liccardo urged people to "harden their homes" to reduce threats this wildfire season during a news conference in Los Gatos on Wednesday.

The South Bay congressman also announced the Wildfire Resiliency Partnership, a new initiative aimed at fighting flames.

"This regional partnership is nothing new; we're simply bringing the federal government into it," Liccardo said. "One way or another, we're going to be at the front of the line."

The mayors of Los Gatos and Saratoga along with South Bay fire crews were on hand to demonstrate AI technology aimed at fighting wildfires.
