The Louise Bridge will reopen to traffic Friday morning, more than three weeks earlier than expected.

The bridge was closed on May 23, 2025, for its annual inspection and maintenance. Crews discovered additional corrosion and defects, extending the closure into September. Repairs have now been completed ahead of schedule, allowing the bridge to reopen safely to vehicles and pedestrians.

Work continues on a long-term rehabilitation plan to extend the bridge’s life by 25 to 40 years. City Council has approved a preliminary $40-million design, with construction potentially starting in 2026 pending budget approval.
