LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A federal court has dismissed several counts of charges against former Louisville Metro detectives Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany.
Jaynes and co-defendant Meany are accused of denying Breonna Taylor her fourth amendment constitutional rights during the botched raid in which she was killed in March of 2020.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Simpson acknowledged the circumstances which led to Taylor being killed and acknowledged accusations that Jaynes and Meany falsified information for an arrest warrant. However the court notes that entering without a proper justification and searching in an unreasonable manner are distinct types of Fourth Amendment violations.
