Ankit Sachdeva isn’t letting one hater with a Sharpie dull the vibrancy of his campaign for Penticton City Council.

Last Thursday, he was contacted by a member of the public, who noticed that somebody wrote onto one of his campaign signs “Some obscene stuff,” as the person described it.

Shortly after, a friend contacted Sachdeva with the same concern.

“If you elect a minority … one day you may find yourself the minority,” the graffiti reads.

The sign was on Main Street across from the RCMP cop shop. It was replaced as soon as possible.

Sachdeva is one of 12 candidates in a municipal byelection scheduled for Saturday.
