WEST LOOP — A 9-year-old boy has died after an attack last week at a CTA Green Line station left him brain dead, authorities said.

Elijah Flores died from multiple blunt force injuries to the head after falling down the CTA station’s stairs during the Aug. 10 attack, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was later pronounced brain dead from his injuries before being removed from life support.

His death has been ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office. As of Wednesday, no arrests had been made.

The incident happened Aug. 10, when a 22-year-old man, who was with Elijah, got into a verbal altercation with two other men at the Clinton Green Line stop, 540 W. Lake St., police said.
