It started with a handful of yarn, creativity, and a shared sense of gratitude, and now the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands has a one-of-a-kind work of art hanging just outside its council chambers.

The Women Matters group has donated a hand-crafted rug hooking of the township logo, a gesture members say was meant to show their appreciation for the community they call home. The fibre arts collective meets weekly to work on individual projects, but this time, they joined forces to create something lasting and meaningful. Article content
