María Zardoya , frontwoman of the psychedelic-soul and indie pop band the Marías , has announced her debut solo project under the banner “Not for Radio.” While the band has been making music together for nearly eight years as a four-piece, Zardoya made it clear that her solo venture will not mark the end of the group — the Marías will continue on.
On Wednesday, Zardoya went live on the the Marías’ official Instagram account wearing a large white T-shirt with the words “I made a solo project” written in all-black capital lettering. She then went live with another Instagram account with the username “Not for Radio,” and revealed the incoming project, teasing collaborations and more.
“I made a solo project, don’t worry, the band will be here forever,” Zardoya said in an Instagram caption
