There’s a new commander of the Montana Army National Guard’s Silver Bow Readiness Center near Butte.

Lt. Col. Sean A. Hardy assumed command of the complex and the 1889th Regional Support Group during a ceremony earlier this month that also marked his promotion to colonel.

The unit’s former commander, Brig. Gen. Trent Gibson, was recently appointed by Gov. Greg Gianforte as Montana’s Adjutant General and now leads the Montana National Guard from its Helena headquarters.

Hardy, a Missoula native, graduated from high school in Billings and began his military career in 1988 as a mortarman in the U.S. Marine Corps.
