NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The public hearings about the MTA's fare and toll increases have wrapped up. Riders can send comments to the agency before a decision is made.
Two days of in-person and online sessions were held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Riders addressed the board about the condition of the commutes and the impact of the increase.
Many people said working people were struggling to pay bills. Other riders addressed the proposed ticketing changes, including ticket activation and expiration.
In the past, the board has discussed some changes to the policies or implementation.
In comments before the hearings began on Tuesday, MTA leadership said the small increases keep transit running and affordable.
