The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory at 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday valid from Thursday 8 p.m. until Friday 1 a.m. for the Bronx and Queens as well as Suffolk and Nassau counties.

The weather service states, "One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

The weather service comments, "If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property."
