NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- North Ridgeville may be home to the next big racing sensation, á la NASCAR and IndyCar heroine Danica Patrick.

And now, with the inaugural season of the newly minted Lorain Ohio KartPlex, more than a few future professional drivers may be coming from the region.

At the top of that list is Ashlyn Taylor, daughter of Jerry and Stephanie Taylor and sister of Kinsley.

Ashlyn, a sixth-grader at the North Ridgeville Academic Center, is one part grease monkey, one part motorhead and 100 percent girl power.

As one of very few girls pursuing and participating in the sport of go-kart racing, she said she’s seen her share of leers and jeers.

She lets her racing on the course do the talking.
