or the month of August, the city of Springfield is running over two inches below normal in terms of rainfall totals. Most of the Ozarks are now considered to be in a low-end drought.
Grass, due to its shallow root system, is one of the first things to go dormant during a drought. Local mowing companies we spoke with say they have been experiencing a decline in demand, and some customers are only having their lawns mowed once every other week.
