The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office placed the Forest Lakes area into "Set" evacuation status just after noon on Wednesday , Aug. 20, due to a wildfire nearby.

The Sheep Spring Fire, which was initially reported on Tuesday, is estimated to be 35 acres in size. The fire is burning on Tonto National Forest and Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest land, south of Highway 260 and less than 2 miles from Forest Lakes. Copy article link
