YOSEMITE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A ranger with Yosemite National Park said they have been fired after taking part in a display of solidarity for the transgender community.
In May, "SJ" Joslin helped to display the trans pride flag across Yosemite's El Capitan. At the time, they said they were off the clock and did not use any park resources to hang the flag.
Joslin claimed Monday that their firing violates their First Amendment right to free speech, explaining further that they were let go for "failing to demonstrate acceptable conduct" as a wildlife biologist. • Photo Credit: Miya Tsudome, supplied by OutsidePR • Image courtesy of Trans Is Natural coalition, supplied by OutsidePR • Image courtesy of Trans Is Natural coalition, supplied by OutsidePR
