MINNEAPOLIS -- Rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson , who has been on the IL since July 29 (retroactive to July 26) with a fractured left forearm , continues to progress through his rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas. A's manager Mark Kotsay said Wilson’s return to the lineup could be imminent.
Wilson homered at Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday night , his third game with Las Vegas. He’s hitting .273 (3-for-11) with a double and a homer during his stint with the Aviators. He’s also progressed to playing seven innings at shortstop.
Kotsay said Wilson was scheduled to start at shortstop again on Wednesday night, and if all goes well, he could meet the team in Seattle this weekend as the Athletics kick off a three-game series with the Mariners on Friday.
