A 16-year-old boy, accused of driving under the influence in a Marblehead crash that killed his 13-year-old passenger, is now facing a charge of motor vehicle homicide, authorities announced Wednesday.

The 16-year-old was arraigned Wednesday in Lynn Juvenile Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation; receiving a stolen motor vehicle; and operating under the influence of liquor; as well as two civil motor vehicle infractions, the Essex County District Attorney’s office said in press release.
