OUTER BANKS, N.C. — Due to storm surges from Hurricane Erin, NC12 closed from Oregon Inlet to Hatteras Village at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

NCDOT said NC12 is closed because of unsafe conditions for drivers in that area.

They ask if you see any flood waters, turn around and don't drown.
