A Holts Summit man died in a car crash in Linn County on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 45-year-old who died was a passenger in a Ford F-250 that rear-ended a semitruck and flipped over. The semitruck was parked on the side of the highway, according to the report.

The 32-year-old driver, who was from Ashland, was seriously injured and transported to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, according to the report.

The crash occurred one mile west of Bucklin on U.S. 36 at 3:38 p.m. on Tuesday, the report said.
