The Bear star Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle have been set to make their Broadway debuts next spring in Proof , the first New York revival of David Auburn’s Pulitzer- and Tony-winning play.

Thomas Kail will direct the revival, which was announced Wednesday. It is scheduled to play a limited engagement at a Shubert theatre to be determined with previews beginning March 31, 2026 ahead of opening night April 16. Kail and Mike Bosner are producers.

Proof had its world premiere Off Broadway in 2000 and scored six Tony nominations after its Broadway transfer, winning three including for Best Play and Best Actress in a Play for its star Mary-Louise Parker.
