FORSYTH, Ga. — The winner of a superhero episode of 'Chopped' last month, Chef Chelsia Ogletree, received even more recognition from the city of Forsyth on Monday.
The city named July 8 as Chef Chelsia Ogletree Day to honor her journey and achievements.
"I was honored in such a way to be seen from my community," Ogletree said.
This proclamation was more than just an acknowledgment of Ogletree. She said that her grandfather died on Friday, so she accepted the proclamation in his honor.
"He was a person of honor and integrity, and community, and had such a passion for good, clean food," she said. "He loved his family and that's a legacy that I'm humbled to be able to pass along."
Ogletree plans to go all out in celebration next July 8. She said they will have special signature dishes
