MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A former Muskegon Heights mayoral candidate and city council member was arraigned on one count of armed robbery on Wednesday.

Patricia Jones allegedly robbed the East Laketon Ave. PNC bank in Muskegon Twp. on Monday, implying to a bank teller that people would be hurt if the bank didn’t comply with her demands, according to Muskegon Twp. police.

”She waited in line for a short amount of time, and then she went up to a teller and passed a note, and that note was a handwritten note that said something to the effect of ‘this is a hold up,’” Muskegon Twp. Police Chief Patrick VanDommelen said.

Jones ran for mayor of Muskegon Heights in 2023 and Muskegon County Commissioner in 2018, losing both races. She was a Muskegon Heights City Council member prior to that.
