Seminole County is preparing to launch a new micro-transit service, Scout, this fall. The new form of transportation, which is similar to a ride-sharing service, will replace most Lynx bus routes.

"We're still going to maintain and keep the major Lynx routes on SR-436, 17-92 corridor. So, people that have appointments, let's say at the Medical Centers in Downtown Orlando, will still have that capability as well as work centers," said Seminole County Commission Chair Jay Zembower.
Zembower says Scout is more efficient and more time-sensitive. It's operated by a company from Miami called Freebee. Riders will request a Scout ride through a smartphone app or by calling a dedicated phone line.
