PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Carrollton woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Pickens County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Cynthia D. Wright, 60, was killed when the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Wright was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 2:45 on Alabama 86 near the 21 mile marker, about five miles west of Gordo. Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
