AUSTIN, Texas (KLTV) - East Texans have expressed concerns in recent months over water proposals that could potentially pump billions of gallons of groundwater from an East Texas aquifer. One recent attempt was a controversial plan by Dallas hedge fund manager Kyle Bass which would extract billions of gallons of water from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer.
Gov. Greg Abbott added protection of that groundwater to his list of priorities for the second special-called legislative session, he announced on X Wednesday night.
He also noted that he wants expansion access to ivermectin in pharmacies, and to impose penalties on “willfully absent” legislators.
