WASHINGTON COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - A Washington County mother was sentenced to five years of probation on Wednesday after her 2-year-old daughter nearly died from a fentanyl overdose in 2023.

Prosecutors say on March 13, 2023, Megan Elizabeth Meek and her finance, Bret Mitchell Hollmann, smoked fentanyl with their toddler nearby.

Later that day, Meek left a bag of fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia in the backseat of her car, within reach of the child, who swallowed several pills.

By the time they realized the toddler was overdosing, she was unconscious and had no pulse. Beaverton police gave her two doses of Narcan, saving her life. At the hospital, she overdosed again due to the amount of fentanyl in her system, and was placed on a Narcan drip for 24 hours.
