A Maine teen was left in critical condition early Tuesday morning after the car he was driving crashed into a utility pole in Billerica, according to police.
On Aug. 19 around 1:10 a.m., Billerica police officers were sent to patrol around the Shops at Billerica at 480 Boston Road in response to reports that an ongoing car meetup was causing disturbances in several neighboring communities, Billerica police said in a press release . Burlington police had notified Billerica police that 30 to 40 cars were heading to the shopping center.
A responding officer soon saw several cars near the shopping center that appeared to be part of the meetup, Billerica police said. He tried to pull one of the cars over after noticing that the driver was driving recklessly, but the driver didn’t stop.
