One of the world's tallest non-redwood trees, a 320-foot-plus Douglas Fir that's been growing along the coast of Oregon for hundreds of years, is still standing as a fire burns inside it.

The Doerner Fir , which is nestled in an old-growth forest along the Coast Range Mountains, is estimated to be between 450 and 500 years old, Megan Harper, a public affairs specialist for the Bureau of Land Management, tells PEOPLE.
