SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Fire Department says a commercial structure is on fire near East Riverside Ave on 101 N. Madelia Street, according to their Facebook page.

City of Spokane Fire Battalion Chief Paul Gortler says construction workers hit a gas line and that's what started the fire.

Fire crews say there are four engines and a truck and equipment on scene to monitor the gas.

Gortler says that everyone on the scene was briefly evacuated, but everyone has been allowed back in since then.
