SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Some homeowners in Savannah are frustrated and want something done to help prevent flooding on their properties.

Community resident Jewel Hendrix, a long-term homeowner in the Kensington Park area, tells WTOC that she has experienced substantial flooding in her yard due to recent developments on a neighboring home.

“Pretty much out of the gate, my yard started to flood when it had never flooded before,” Hendrix said. “Every time I have spoken to the builder, sadly, she has just really dismissed any concerns that I have had.”

Hendrix’s neighbor, Doug Kearse, lives next door to the new development and says he has been struggling with the flooding.

Kearse showed WTOC exactly how far the water rose on his property and how he tries to keep the water out.
