PATERSON, New Jersey (WABC) -- There's a new update on the recovery from the Paterson water main break.
Repairs are now complete, and the water company will be opening and flushing more than 2,000 fire hydrants in the city and neighboring Prospect Park.
The process is needed to make sure there's fresh water flowing throughout the system.
It could take up to 12 days.
Residents of all four municipalities impacted by the water main break are still under a boil water alert.
