Editorial: Children’s Hospital collaboration critical

What would Toledo do to land 1,000 jobs with an average salary of $100,000 a year? What would Toledo do to save 400 to 600 families each year the expense of traveling out of town to get their children care?

The answer to both questions is, “a lot.”

According to information given to The Blade by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the community could attract an additional 1,000 jobs paying an average of $100,000 — at a minimum — with a robust collaboration in pediatric health between the two major hospital systems, ProMedica and Mercy.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Mercy Health, and ProMedica need to reach an agreement to end the ongoing legal fight for the good of this community.
