Kelly Ross Patterson, age 59, of Katy, Texas, and formerly of Denver, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Kelly was born on December 5, 1965, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of LaVerne and Ruth Patterson. He graduated salutatorian from Denver High School in the Class of 1984. Kelly went on to earn his degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa. After a stop at Dexter Redfield High School, Kelly taught for many years in the Katy, Texas, school system. His final career stop was Saint Pius X High School, also in Katy, Texas. While teaching Mathematics and Computer Sciences, he also took on the task of being high school golf coach, and he took great pride in his players' progress. Ultimately after 30 years he retired to improve his own golf game.
