FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Secretary of State’s office reports that most new voters do not want to choose a political party. For the fifth straight month, other political affiliations are leading new voter registration.
According to a report from the office of Secretary of State Michael Adams, R-Ky., 11% of the electorate designated as other, which includes people of the Kentucky Party, a group of people tired with both parties. But under state law, it isn’t an official third party.
“We aren’t being represented at all. Kentucky has been completely forgotten in Kentucky politics,” said chairperson Geoff Sebesta.
Sebesta said candidates in the Kentucky Party will focus solely on the commonwealth. He describes most of the members as “rural rednecks” with politics of compassion.
