EXCLUSIVE: New Europe Film Sales has boarded world sales on Hlynur Palmason’s Joan of Arc .

The film will have its world premiere in the competitive Zabaltegi-Tabakalera section at San Sebastian Film Festival next month.

The Icelandic-language film follows three siblings who craft a knight-like figure, only to unleash a barrage of arrows upon it. The film observes their lives through the seasons as they both construct and demolist their lifelike creation.

Written and directed by Palmason, the film is produced by Anton Mani Svansson and Katrin Pors for Iceland’s Still Vivid and Denmark’s Snowglobe. Co-producers are Didar Domehri for Maneki Films and Mikkel Jersin.

Backers on the film include the Icelandic Film Center, the Danish Film Institute, SASS and the CNC.
