A dog surrendered to a California rescue group has captured hearts online after his dramatic transformation—from being left outside without food or water to wagging his tail at volunteers within just days.

The three-year-old pup, now named Truman, was brought to Community Effort Animal Rescue (C.E.A.R.) in Littlerock, California, after being surrendered by his owner. Staff were stunned when they removed his collar to discover what appeared to be a $300 Tiffany & Co. dog collar.

"The irony of pulling this $300 Tiffany's collar off of him," the rescue wrote in a video shared to Instagram .

Despite the luxury pet accessory , the rescue said the dog was forced to live outdoors, often without food or water in extreme heat , with temperatures topping 100 degrees.
