WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Wyoming County Schools has implemented a new student sign-out procedure for its high schools, citing student safety as the reason for the change.
Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, a parent, guardian, or person listed on the student’s blue card will be required to come to the school in person to sign out a student.
The district said it will no longer accept sign-out requests by phone, text message, or written note due to concerns about verifying identity.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep our students safe,” school officials said in the announcement.
