TOMS RIVER, NJ — Two young deer have captured hearts in Toms River after settling behind a local craft store — without their mothers, but with each other.

Employees and customers at Fabricated For You Craft Store first noticed a single baby deer wandering near their parking lot nearly a month ago. The lone fawn, appearing healthy but clearly without a doe nearby, lingered near the building and never strayed far. Then, about a week later, a second orphaned fawn appeared — and the two have been inseparable ever since.

The store, located in a commercial area of Toms River, has quietly become a haven for the young deer, who now spend their days roaming the grassy edges of the lot and resting in shaded spots near the store’s rear entrance.
