SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Northern California's second heat wave of the year is set to continue Thursday, with the possibility of the hottest day of the year so far during this stretch of triple-digit temperatures.
The KCRA 3 weather team is issuing Impact Days from Thursday through Saturday because the heat could affect those sensitive to heat and those who spend extended amounts of time outside. Heat-related illnesses are possible, and it is recommended to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors during this time.
Peak heat will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on those days.
Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Thursday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 103 degrees, up from the 100 degrees recorded Wednesday. The average for this time of year is 92 degrees.
