CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than eight months after a deadly shooting unfolded in Charlotte , police say a second suspect is now facing charges.
On Thursday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced that FBI agents in Atlanta arrested 27-year-old Dontae Harrison. He is now charged with murder in the death of Demarcus Gerald, who was 25 years old when he was killed in December 2024. Harrison is set to be extradited to Charlotte.
The shooting that claimed Gerald's life unfolded along West Trade Street on December 7, 2024. CMPD said days later that 25-year-old Quincy Harrell was arrested in the case. He was charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Gerald's next of kin have been notified of the latest arrest
