“You have to be on another planet if you don’t know anything about Epstein,” Julie K. Brown tells me over the phone. Maybe I shouldn’t have played dumb. “There were probably hundreds of underage girls and young women who were sexually abused by this very powerful man over three decades. Then, he essentially walked away with little or no punishment for the crimes, even though the case was in the hands of the of the Justice Department,” Brown says.
