HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Huntersville community is mourning the loss of Officer William "Bill" Broadway, a dedicated member of the Huntersville Police Department.

Huntersville Police Officer Broadway was battling a rare form of cancer, a fight coworkers, family, and friends said he faced with unwavering strength and grace.

In a statement, Huntersville Police shared their sorrow: "Bill was more than a police officer. He was a devoted servant to the Town of Huntersville and its citizens... a trusted teammate, a loyal friend, and a man whose strong work ethic was one to emulate."
