Seattle Mariners reliever Tayler Saucedo struggled against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, allowing 5 earned runs in only 1/3 of an inning.

Saucedo was disappointed in himself for the outing, but he was even more disappointed with a message he received on Instagram afterwards.

A user wrote to Saucedo wishing death upon him and his family.

“I hope your [expletive] head gets blown off to pieces walking in Philly you ugly autistic piece of [expletive],” he shared that someone wrote. “Your [expletive] wife/gf dying too would be awesome as well.”

Athletes understand that they are in the public eye when they play professional sports and are going to receive criticism from time to time. But this message to Saucedo is obviously way overboard and uncalled for.
