BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man convicted of gunning down another man in Bedford-Stuyvesant has been sentenced, Kings County District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced.

Rahmell Howell, 29, was convicted in June of running down and shooting 23-year-old Jermaine Isaiah Hill-Cross in broad daylight on Sept. 10, 2021, and killing him.

Howell fired six times, hitting Hill-Cross once and another man, 42, once in the leg, according to evidence gathered. Howell and Hill-Cross went to school together, Gonzalez said. Hill-Cross was allegedly lured to the area of Clifton Place an hour before the shooting after getting some phone calls.

Howell was convicted of murder, among other charges. On Thursday, Howell was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
