KILLEEN, Texas — A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder for a shooting death in Killeen, police have announced.

According to the Killeen Police Department, the 16-year-old suspect was found hiding in Chicago, Illinois and was arrested for the outstanding court order charging him with the murder of Kaizen Amere Simmons in April 2025.

The suspect has reportedly been extradited back to Texas and is now awaiting trial. Because the suspect is a juvenile, their name has not been released.

According to police, officers were called to an address on Morning Star Lane in the early morning of Tuesday, April 29. When officers arrived, they reportedly found a 21-year-old man, identified as Simmons, who had been shot. Simmons was reportedly taken to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical C
