With that blast, off the pitches of former major leaguer Masahiro Tanaka, he broke the shutout he was building in the fourth inning, when he already had a six-run lead over his Tokyo rivals.
In addition to the blast, José Osuna doubled, completing the day 4-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI, two strikeouts, and a defensive error. This marked his fifth consecutive season in Japan, marking his 100th hit and a .260 average this season, with 27 extra-base hits—including 18 doubles—49 home runs, 26 runs scored, and 145 bases reached
